Lehmann, Berlin, Dresden) and art collector Karsten Kretzschmar (Klassische Uhren Kretzschmar, Dresden) chose the winner of the Incentive Award for Visual Arts 2015 of the European Foundation for Culture. He will be the one to present the festivities on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the German reunification in the Frauenkirche Dresden. In this year the awarding ceremony has a special theme. The 25th anniversary of the German reunification is a day of exceptional relevance to all of Europe. With the fall of the Berlin wall and the reunification this great project for peace, which was introduced in the 1950s and took flight with the European unification process, finally became reality for the whole continent. On the 26th of April 2015 H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden was honoured with the European Cultural Award “Pro Humanitate” during a festive award ceremony in the residence of the German Embassy in Rome. The laudatory speech was hold by the nobel laureate and president of the pontifical academy of sciences Professor Dr. Werner Arber. More

The German pop band DIE PRINZEN will receive the Cultural Prize for social engagement. Tilo Braune, President of the European Cultural Foundation Pro Europe, brought the good news before the concert of the band on Tuesday the 24th of March 2015 in the Semperoper. “With this prize we value the extraordinary commitment against violence and xenophobia”, explains Tilo Braune. “With their civil engagement the musicians strengthen moral courage in our society.” More

The European Foundation for Culture Pro Europe introduces the Incentive Award for Visual Arts which will be presented on the 2nd of October 2015 in the Church of Our Lady. All actors that will be displaying their artwork at the OSTRALE’O15, which will take part in Dresden from the 10th of July until the 27th of September with the guiding idea “HANDLE WITH CARE”, can take part in the competition for up-and-coming artists. With over 2000 members from the fields of visual and performing arts it renders a thorough overview over the national culture landscape. In its monthly newsletter, the portal informs about current cultural opportunities and tenders from several creative sectors and therewith fosters networks between cultural operators, projects and institutions.
